您好,欢迎您来到中国医学科学院输血研究所!

The Institute of Blood Transfusion (IBT), affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) /Peking Union Medical College (PUMC), is the sole nation-key medical research institute in the area of transfusion science and medicine. IBT is committed to improving health and saving life in the field of blood service by conducting basic and applied research, developing science-based regulations and standards, making policy recommendations, and providing technical and educational support.
Established in 1957 and relocated from Tianjin to Chengdu in 1965, IBT has a long and respected history of achievements. Awarded 65 national scientific prizes and 22 patents, IBT has been playing a leading role in the development of transfusion science and technology in China.
IBT is composed of 6 centers specialized in research in Transfusion-transmitted Diseases (TTD), Immunology & Clinical Transfusion, Plasma Proteins, Stem Cells, Biomedical Engineering and Blood Resource Management. In IBT, scientific research covers a wide range of basic and applied fields, relating many subjects such as medical biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, genetics, biology of pathogen, epidemiology, immunology, pathology, medical examination, biomedical engineering and health management, etc.
IBT also has several key laboratories, such as Nucleic Acid Testing Reference Laboratory, HIV Confirmatory Testing Laboratory, and HLA typing Reference Laboratory, all authorized by the Ministry of Health (MOH), and the Tissue Typing Reference Laboratory for China Marrow Donor Program accredited by Chinese Red Cross Society and Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory of Plasma Protein.
IBT publishes two scientific journals, Chinese Journal of Blood Transfusion and International Journal of Blood Transfusion and Hematology. They deliver the most up-to-date information in transfusion medicine and blood banking to the professionals and the general publics, as well.
Blood safety is one of the priorities of the Chinese government in improving public health. Serving as the national research institute in transfusion medicine, IBT cooperates closely with the MOH and Chinese Society of Blood Transfusion(CSBT). With a dedicated team of nearly 210 staff, IBT will accomplish its mission of making important discoveries in transfusion science and medicine, advancing the practice and standards for a safe blood transfusion, and supporting the policy making to ensure blood safety, to improve health and to save life.
